On Friday, media outlets reported that Cardi B would be sued by a woman claiming that the rapper struck her and spit on her. The New York emcee responded on her Twitter account over the weekend, crying foul.

Entertainment site TMZ reported that an assault lawsuit against Cardi B, whose real names is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, had been filed regarding an alleged incident in February 2018. Emani Ellis, a hospital security guard, reportedly filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court, which states the rapper spit on her, hit her and used racial slurs against her. The guard alleges the assault happened at a medical building, where the "I Like It" lyricist had an appointment.

The actress and rapper, who calls metro Atlanta home, responded Friday in a tweet. She said her doctor supports her story that nothing happened. She also claimed the guard was “twice” her size when the incident would’ve happened. She was also four months pregnant at the time.

Witnesses who spoke to TMZ claimed that Ellis got upset when Cardi B refused to adhere to her request for a photo. Those at the scene of the incident also said there was an argument between the two women. Those folks say they never saw anything physical or heard racial slurs. Ellis claims the argument caused her to lose her job because Cardi “used her celebrity status” to get her terminated.

Ellis is suing for assault, battery and infliction of emotional stress.
