A pair of burglary suspects managed to escape capture during a chase in southwest Atlanta on Wednesday morning.

Atlanta Police Department Sgt. Greg Lyon told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution early Wednesday that officers responded to a burglary at a home on Celebration Drive. The suspects fled in a red vehicle and, according to Channel 2 Action News, eluded police for about three miles before escaping into the woods on foot.

Officers and canines searched the area but, as of Wednesday afternoon, no arrests had been made. Stolen goods were reportedly left inside the getaway vehicle, which police were dusting for fingerprints.
