Brookhaven police are asking for the public’s help finding a rapist with an “overgrown Mohawk” and bushy eyebrows.

The woman was walking along Buford Highway near North Cliff Valley Way between 9 and 10 p.m. on Friday when an unidentified male grabbed her arm and pulled her into a wooded area “after his advances … were ignored,” Brookhaven police spokesman Maj. Brandon Gurley said.

“The suspect struck the victim in the face several times and forcibly raped the victim,” Gurley said in a news release. “The victim fought back and may have caused scratches and bite marks to the suspect’s arms and/or face.”

The suspect ran away when two males approached, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male about 5 foot, 8 inches tall with black hair, brown eyes and “bushy eyebrows.” He has a “darker” complexion and large lips, police said, and his hair was described as cut close on the sides and thicker on top — an “overgrown Mohawk.”

Gurley said the victim is working with authorities to create a composite sketch of the suspect. Meanwhile, police want to speak with anyone who may have information regarding the attack, including the two males who broke it up.

Those men, Gurley said, were not on scene when officers arrived.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at crimestoppersatlanta.org or 404-577-TIPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for rewards.
