An investigation into what prompted a five-hour closure of streets and buildings on the Georgia Tech campus turned up no evidence of a spill or leak, a school spokesperson said Thursday.

“The Engineered Biosystems Building was briefly evacuated around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday after a hazardous materials alarm sounded,” Siobhan Rodriguez told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an email. No injuries were reported.

Officials still haven’t determined what set off the alarm. Tech police worked with Atlanta Fire Rescue to check the building.

The area around State and Fowler streets at Ferst Drive was shut down around 5:30 p.m. and did not reopen until 10:45 p.m., police said. The Petit, Ford ES&T and Whitaker buildings were also closed.
