A Rockdale County high school was temporarily placed on lockdown Friday afternoon after staff found that a student took a gun onto campus, the school district said.
Few details about the incident were released after Salem High School was placed on a “soft lockdown” while officers investigated, according to district spokeswoman Cindy Ball. The lockdown went into place after a fight between students, she said.
Students were dismissed from campus at the normal time, Ball said. The school district did not say if anyone was injured. The names of those involved were not released.
