Authorities investigated a suspicious package inside the Fulton County Courthouse on Wednesday morning.

Suspicious packages that shut down the Fulton County Courthouse and surrounding streets early Wednesday morning posed no threat, authorities said.

The packages were actually two boxes of food left outside a courtroom that had not been picked up, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted the Atlanta police bomb squad and the Fulton County Marshal’s Department during the investigation.

Traffic on Pryor, Mitchell and Peachtree streets was impacted while authorities were on scene. Drivers were urged to avoid the area.

Parts of the Charles Carnes Building on Pryor Street were evacuated, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office said. The building houses some courtrooms.

Roads in the area reopened just before 11 a.m., Fulton County government said on Twitter.
