Ah, Decatur.

In some towns in America, young black men can get shot by police, and officials will deny that there’s a problem.

In Decatur, an African-American can be stopped while walking in his neighborhood, where there’s been a series of break-ins, and officials will hire a consultant to do public roundtables on compassion.

Or they would have, if the price tag hadn’t read: “$25,000 to $100,000.”
