Conyers police have arrested two teenagers and a third man they suspect put on masks and burst into an apartment early last Tuesday and fatally shot 24-year-old Jarvis Hughes.

Police spokeswoman Kim Lucas said Monday that detectives had developed enough evidence by Saturday to file murder charges against Joey Armour Jackson, 18; Paul Stephen Greene, 28, and Martria Hunley, 17. Jackson and Greene also were charged with aggravated assault and cruelty to children because Hughes’ girlfriend’s children were inside the apartment in the 100 block of Millcrest Walk at the time of the shooting.

All three suspects are from Conyers.

Hughes’ mother said she thinks her son knew his killer. Audrey Hughes told Channel 2 Action News her son was shot in the head, possibly over drugs.

Neither the girlfriend nor her children could provide a description of the three people who allegedly shot Hughes, however. Police did not say what led them to Jackson, Greene and Hunley.
