Cartersville police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man in the shooting death of another man late Saturday night.

Antavious Deshaun Linley, 24, of Kingston, has been charged with one count of murder in the death of Actavious Thompson, also 24, according to police spokesman Maj. Mark Camp.

Around 11 p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to the area near 19 Martin Luther King Drive, about a shooting.

Police found two men standing next to Thompson’s body. Thompson was on the ground with a gun shot wound to the left temple area of his head. A small black revolver was found near the body, police said.

Camp released no other details about the incident on Monday. The investigation is continuing, he said.
