Authorities in five metro Atlanta communities are looking for two people accused of committing a series of armed robberies at Rite Aid stores, and one of the suspects may be as young as 12 years old.

The first robbery occurred about 11:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at a Douglasville Rite Aid. Two people allegedly took an unknown amount of cash from the store’s registers while the manager was held at gunpoint, according to the Douglasville Police Department.

About 8 a.m. Nov. 23, a man allegedly entered an Atlanta Rite Aid at 2866 Memorial Dr. and demanded the clerk open the safe, officials with the Atlanta Police Department said.

“After the safe was opened by the clerk,” Atlanta police said, “the suspect made her lie down on the floor away from him, as he grabbed the currency out of the safe and placed it into a bag.”

The man allegedly stole about $1,500.

A third robbery took place about 10 p.m. Dec. 6 at a Buford Rite Aid at 4470 Nelson Brogdon Blvd. In addition to an unknown number of cigars and several bottles of Advil PM, two suspects allegedly took money from the store’s safe and cash registers after two store employees opened them, according to an incident report from the Gwinnett County Police Department. The suspects allegedly demanded the phones and money of the employees.

Gwinnett police said the suspects are between the ages of 12 and 15 years old and 45 and 50 years old.

“The victims believed the younger suspect was the son of the older suspect,” according to the Gwinnett police report.

Pharmacies in Fayetteville and Cobb have been targeted as well, Atlanta police Sgt. Karla Baldini said. A reward of up to $25,000 is available for any information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspects. Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
