More than three years have passed since the remains of a young man were found in Rockdale County. But despite various leads and a GBI artist's sculpture of the man's head, the man's identity remains a mystery.

On Dec. 10, 2010, skeletal remains were found in the area of Salem and Ellington roads, the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page. Deputies believe the body may have been in the same location for between six and eight months.

An autopsy concluded that the body was that of a black male, between the ages of 15 and 24, between 5-foot-4 and 5-10, and of an unknown weight, the sheriff's office said. Foul play is not suspected in the case.

The man was wearing a large white T-shirt, size 46x32 beige Dickies brand pants, and size 10½ No Boundaries brand slip-on shoes, police said.

Anyone with information on the man's identity is asked to call Investigator Tracy Radford at 770-278-8169. The public can also submit a tip online at https://www.crimereports.com/agency/RCSO using the "Submit a Tip" button in the top right corner.
