A kidnap attempt is under investigation in Roswell.
Police say a man tried to grab a 12-year-old Roswell girl walking to her bus stop Friday morning.
Around 7:40 a.m., police said the girl was walking on Old Holcomb Bridge Road when she noticed a black Honda parked at a daycare center, Roswell Police spokeswoman Officer Lisa Holland said.
The vehicle pulled next to the girl, and the man driving demanded the girl get into the car, Holland said.
The girl started walking backwards from the vehicle, and the car pulled away, police said.
A woman witnessed the incident and escorted the girl to her bus stop, police said.
The woman reported what happened to the bus driver, and an investigation started when the child arrived safely at her middle school, Holland said.
Police describe the suspect as a dark-skinned, clean-shaven black man in his 30s with a short haircut.
The vehicle the suspect was driving was an older model, four-door Honda with a red sticker near the gas cap, police said.
Police hope the woman who helped the girl will contact investigators with the Roswell Police Department, Holland said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Dana DeWeese at 770-640-4279.
