Report: BB gun causes lock down at North Clayton Middle School

North Clayton Middle School was on lockdown late Thursday morning due to reports of a student on campus with a BB gun, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The school was on “soft lockdown” for about a half hour during the incident at the school at 5517 West Fayetteville Road.

A student reported that another boy had a BB gun, according to Channel 2. Authorities found the gun in a book bag in a locker and arrested the student. The student, who was very remorseful. said he forgot he had it with him, authorities told Channel 2. The BB gun was unloaded and no one was in danger or threatened, authorities said.
