Police arrested an Augusta man wearing only a turban and a pair of high heels Sunday after neighbors reported a naked man running through the Lake Olmstead Park area.
Jermaine Lloyd, 28, was attempting to put on women's pink panties and pantyhose around 7:45 a.m. when police spotted him hiding behind a tree, reported the Augusta Chronicle.
Police used force to subdue Lloyd, hitting him below the knee with a baton, Richmond County Sherriff’s deputies said in a report the Chronicle obtained. The man tried to run after being handcuffed, and police put him in leg shackles.
In his failed flee attempt, Lloyd dropped a purple Crown Royal bag that contained cocaine and marijuana. He was also carrying a pair of sweatpants at the time of his arrest.
Lloyd was also wanted for resisting arrest last week, according to the report.
Richmond County sheriff’s deputies stopped Lloyd last Wednesday after he almost drove an SUV up a curb at an Augusta shopping center. They attempted to arrest him for driving under the influence, but he fled on foot, escaping custody and leaving his vehicle behind.
Police found cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle, the report said.
The two incidents have racked up a slew of charges against Lloyd. He is charged with public indecency, two counts of obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of marijuana, driving under the influence, and failure to maintain lane.
He is being held in the Richmond County jail on $12,640 bond.
