Law enforcement officials are trying to find a man they say beat his girlfriend and shot her in the stomach.

Norcross police have a warrant out for Bryan Hutcheson, 38. The department said he is “armed and dangerous.”

Hutcheson repeatedly hit his girlfriend in the head and shot her in the stomach Saturday, police spokesman Officer Robert Braud said. The bullet exited through her torso.

She is in a hospital in serious condition. Norcross police will not disclose her location for her protection.

Hutcheson has a “violent criminal history” and the department is actively working toward his capture, Braud said.
