Atlanta police have released pictures captured by surveillance cameras of four men who may have taken more than 100 computers from Brown Middle School west of downtown Atlanta.
The images show the men, believed to be in their early to mid 20s, making several trips carrying computers during the predawn hours of Aug. 17. APD released the video Monday in hopes that someone will recognize them and call with information that could lead to their arrest and convictions along with a $2,000 reward.
On the videos, the four seemed to know cameras could be present because they used caps and jackets to hide their faces.
According to a report on the break-in, just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 17, an officer responding to a report of vandalism discovered several empty and partially empty computer carts and computers just outside a door on the Beacher Street side of the school. At the same time, a security officer on a routine patrol spotted several computer cabinets near a sidewalk; then he discovered broken glass and a damaged door that the burglars apparently used to get inside.
“It is undetermined how many computers were stolen, however, it appears to be approximately (100 +) empty slots where computers were possibly seated,” according to the report.
