One dead in Newton County SWAT standoff

One person was dead and the search was under way for a suspect Friday morning in a Newton County standoff, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A SWAT team was involved with the incident on Deer Trail in Oxford, according to Capt. Keith Crum.
