An Ohio man wanted on murder charges in DeKalb County was arrested Wednesday outside Toledo, police said.

Brandon Morgan, 28, is accused of shooting and killing 21-year-old Kashaun Gee at a DeKalb County apartment complex last week, authorities said.

Police and FBI agents issued a warrant for Morgan's arrest and broadcast a public alert that he was wanted on Tuesday, according to WNWO-TV.

Lucas County Sheriff's deputies picked up Morgan at a hotel in Maunee, Ohio, a Toledo suburb, according to Toledo Police spokeswoman Liz Durham.

Police were called to a report of shooting just after midnight on March 25 at the Highland Forest Apartments in the 4700 block of Central Drive near Stone Mountain, DeKalb County Police said.

Gee was discovered there with two gunshot wounds to the chest, and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he later died, police said.

DeKalb Police spokesman Capt. Stephen Fore said a second man showed up shortly after the shooting at a medical facility on Montreal Road near Tucker with a leg injury.

"He claimed somebody tried to rob him," Fore said. "He got a minor gunshot wound and was taken to Grady. But he got up and left the hospital."

Fore said police believe that man was Morgan.

Durham said Morgan was last arrested in Toledo in December on drug charges.

He was booked into the Lucas County Corrections Center in Toledo on Wednesday and remains there, according to police.

It is unclear if and when he will be returned to DeKalb County.
