Two months later, the death of an Atlanta man whose body was found in Death Valley missing organs is shrouded in mystery.

The remains of 24-year-old Ryan Singleton was found by joggers in the Mojave Desert on Sept. 21. Police told Singleton's mother Iris Flowers that the eyes, heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys were missing, she recalled to Fox 5 Atlanta in October.

Singleton’s story has attracted the attention of several national news outlets since then as Flowers continues to seek answers.

Although the San Bernadino County Corononers office believes Singleton's body was scavenged by animals, his family is convinced of foul play, the New York Daily News reported.

Singleton left his Atlanta home in July for Los Angeles to pursue his dream of modeling and acting, Flowers told Fox 5. On July 9, Singleton was driving through the desert after a stop in Las Vegas.

Investigators told the family that Singleton's car broke down, and a patrolling police officer delivered him to a rest stop in the nearby small town of Baker, Calif, according to Fox News.

Singleton called a friend who lived three hours away to pick him up, Fox News reported. But he wasn’t there when his friend arrived.

His remains were found nearly three months later, two miles from Singleton’s last seen location.

An official autopsy report will not be ready for another three or four months, a representative with the San Bernadino County Coroner’s office told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday.
