A busy intersection in Dawsonville has reopened after a collision sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries Monday afternoon.
The wreck happened when a dump truck ran a red light, swerved and spilled its load on top of a SUV in the intersection of Ga. 53 and Ga. 400 in Dawsonville, Georgia State Patrol told Channel 2 Action News.
At least one person was trapped in the SUV and was freed by the Dawson Fire Department.
Fire Chief Danny Thompson said both people were in stable condition when they were taken to the hospital.
An investigation by GSP is ongoing.
