A preliminary autopsy has discovered that a 4-month-old boy found unresponsive in a Henry County home this week died from asphyxiation, officials said.
First responders were called Tuesday to the home on Hemlock Way in Stockbridge about noon in reference to a medical emergency, Henry County police Capt. Joey Smith said Friday. They found the infant dead.
Smith said investigators are following up on possible medical-related issues and waiting on the toxicology reports to determine how the boy died.
“There were no signs of physical trauma,” Smith said.
No arrests have been made.
Susan Dubose told AJC.com her son, who was the boy’s father, didn’t have custody of the child and never met him. The boy’s father lived in South Carolina, she said.
No other information was released.
