Missing 4-year-old found safe in DeKalb

A 4-year-old girl reported missing in DeKalb County was found safe late Tuesday morning, police said.

The girl, reported missing from the 500 block of Summerwalk Parkway, was last seen "sometime this morning at breakfast," DeKalb police Capt. Stephen Fore said. Just before noon, Fore said the girl was found safe, hiding inside her family's apartment.

DeKalb police mounted a search for the girl that involved officers on the ground and in the air.
