A month and a half after seven men ganged up and attacked two teenagers at Tolleson Park’s pool in Smyrna, police said they arrested two suspects.
Elijah Zivon Young and Justin Marquell Bryant, both 19, were joined by five other men, whom police said are all members of the Mucho Gang, on June 15 as they allegedly attacked the two teens at a birthday party.
Young was arrested Thursday, and he joined Bryant — who was arrested 41 days ago in Paulding County — in the Cobb County jail, records show. According to their arrest warrants, 20 to 30 people were present at the pool, ranging from 5 to 50 years old.
The group of men parked in a discreet location before walking from the wood line towards the pool with the planned intention to attack a male teen, according to the warrant. Six of the man attacked the teen, who suffered cuts on his knees and elbows, police said.
As the male teen was being attacked, a female teen was also targeted, with one person ripping off her bathing suit top and punching her in the face, the warrant said.
Police said that many of the people present ran away when the attack began. The men then fled the scene, returning to the woods, authorities said.
Young and Bryant have both been charged with street gang terrorism and simple battery, records show. As of Monday night, they both remained in jail without bond.
Authorities are still looking for the five other men. Anyone with information is asked to contact Smyrna police at 770-434-9481.
