The Georgia Lottery Mega Millions jackpot did not hit its $145 million jackpot Friday night, increasing the winnings to $160 million for the next drawing Tuesday.

Five people won $1 million Friday by matching the first five numbers — 1, 15, 20, 21 and 47 — but not the Mega Ball, which was 34. Those tickets were sold in Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.

The jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball multi-state lottery is $40 million.

The Georgia lottery benefits programs such as tuition grants, scholarships and loans for college students and technology grants to train teachers in Georgia.
