An online sale meetup took a bloody turn Sunday afternoon when a man who was trying to sell a pair of shoes was shot multiple times by the buyer, according to Cherokee County authorities.

Diamond Fane, 24, of Kennesaw, drove himself to his girlfriend’s residence at the Hidden Falls Mobile Home Park in Acworth after being shot, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker.

Investigators found Fane lying in the doorway of one of the units about 2:30 p.m., Baker said. He had gunshot wounds to his chest and arm.

Fane told investigators he went to the Waldan Pond apartment complex on Bells Ferry Road after he arranged to meet the buyer through an online app, Baker said.

However, the man took Fane’s shoes and shot him, Baker said. The man then drove off in a gold Infiniti.

Fane was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he is stable. The Infiniti was later found abandoned off Wooten Lake Road in Cobb County, Baker said.

Authorities are looking for the shooter. An investigation is ongoing.
