A man believed to be in his 20s died after being shot multiple times Monday afternoon outside a southeast Atlanta bar, police said.

Investigators believe the incident began as a verbal altercation inside the Driftwood Bar & Grill on Moreland Avenue, according to Sgt. Warren Pickard with Atlanta police. The fight continued into the parking lot, where the man was shot, Pickard said. His name was not immediately released.

The shooting remained under investigation late Monday.
