A 27-year-old man was killed Monday morning after running his car off the road and hitting a tree, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said.

Alexander Roberts Hunt was traveling eastbound on Bentley Road, near the Fox Creek subdivision in south Forsyth County, when his right tires left the roadway as he drove around a curve shortly after 9 a.m., Deputy Doug Rainwater said in an emailed statement.

Investigators believe Hunt attempted to correct the 1997 Plymouth Breeze, but over-corrected, crossed into the westbound lane, left the roadway and struck a tree, Rainwater said.

Hunt, of Cumming, died at the scene.
