Authorities have identified a man who was shot and killed in a neighborhood grocery store in southwest Atlanta on Saturday.

Martrell Gay, 25, died as a result of the shooting late Saturday afternoon at the West End Food Market, according to the Fulton County coroner’s office.

Police were called to the 800 block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard in the city’s West End neighborhood at about 3:30 p.m., said Sgt. Greg Lyon. The victim, who was shot in the face, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Information on a motive or a suspect was not immediately available on Sunday.
