A Cobb County man is now a millionaire, thanks to the Georgia Lottery.
Claro Vargas, of Smyrna, won $1 million playing the $10 Million Cash Spectacular instant game, the Georgia Lottery said today. The ticket was sold at the Shell Express located on Spring Road, in Smyrna.
Vargas claimed his prize at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta, lottery officials said. Vargas could not be reached for comment on the winnings.
Other lottery winnings include a $1 million ticket sold in Savannah in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing. That ticket, sold at Gas & Moore on Highway 80 East, matched the first five winning numbers from the Mega Millions drawing, lottery officials said.
Two additional tickets worth $5,000 were sold in Atlanta and Woodstock from Friday’s drawing, the Georgia Lottery said.
