Renee Glover, after nearly 20 years of transforming public housing in Atlanta, has resigned as president of the Atlanta Housing Authority.

Earlier today, the board of commissioners of the Atlanta Housing Authority accepted her resignation, which will be effective on Sept. 3.

At about 3 p.m. Tuesday, Rick White, a spokesman for Glover, said she was meeting with AHA staff and would not be commenting on her departure, which has been speculated for months.

He said that the Glover has agreed to be available to assist AHA during a 90-day transition period which will end Nov. 30.

Joy Fitzgerald, AHA’s chief real estate officer, has been named interim CEO, while a national search begins.
