One person has been arrested and animal control officers have rescued 14 pit bulls that authorities believed were being used for dog fighting.

Cpl. Kay Lester of the Fulton County Police Department said an anonymous tip was made Friday morning to animal control officials about a possible dog fighting operation on a property on Demooney Road.

In addition to the dogs that they found tied to trees about 200 feet from a house, police officers found other items that are associated with fighting.

Jayson Keith, 33, was charged with 14 counts of cruelty to animals and illegal animal tethering, authorities said. He was booked into the Fulton County jail.
