Fayette County fire officials Tuesday identified the three people killed in a weekend house fire as Darrell Phillips, 64, Valerie Phillips, 61, and Emily Phillips, 30.
The fire was reported by a passerby around 11 p.m. Saturday and crews were dispatched to the single-family home in the 2100 block of Ga. 92, authorities said.
"The home sustained substantial structural damage as a result of the fire," Pete Nelms with the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services said in a news release.
Channel 2 Action News reported that the victims were a husband and wife and their adult daughter.
"Two of them were found probably within 10 to 12 feet of the front door, and one was found lying face down beside one of the beds," Fayette County Fire Chief David Scarborough told Channel 2.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
