Child, 2, pulled from bottom of Cobb County pool

A 2-year-old child was in critical condition this afternoon after being pulled from the bottom of an apartment complex swimming pool.
The child, whose name and gender were not released, was pulled out of the water at the Lakeside at Town Center pool and transported by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, according to Officer David Baldwin with Marietta police. From that hospital, the toddler was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, he said.
The circumstances surrounding how the child ended up in the pool were being investigated, Baldwin said.
