The child was shot about 2 p.m. Monday at a home in the 500 block of Ashworth Drive outside Jonesboro.
A child was killed Monday afternoon in an accidental shooting in Clayton County.
The child was shot about 2 p.m. at a home in the 500 block of Ashworth Drive outside Jonesboro. Another child was also involved, according to Clayton police spokeswoman Sgt. Julia Isaac.
“The investigation is still preliminary at this time,” she told AJC.com in an email. “Due to the parties involved being juveniles, names will not be released.”
No other details about the shooting were released “due to the sensitive nature of the case,” Isaac said.
It is unknown if investigators will file charges.
