Investigators in Cherokee County are trying to figure out who shot at a fire station multiple times with a pellet gun.

Windows and exterior walls of Cherokee fire station 32 on Sugar Pike Road were damaged after the June 29 shooting, the sheriff’s office said Monday.

Fire officials noticed the damage the next morning, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker. He said it is possible the shooting happened while fire crews were out on a call.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The station was shot about five times with what appeared to be a pellet gun, according to authorities. It was not clear if anyone was inside the station at the time.

The damage could cost up to $1,000 to repair, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cherokee sheriff’s office at 770-928-0239.
