An Atlanta judge convicted real estate developer Rick Warren on two counts of housing code violations in Atlanta Municipal Court Tuesday.

Warren faces up to six months in jail and potential fines on each of the two counts. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 20.

Judge Crystal Gaines found Warren not guilty on three additional counts and dismissed charges in another case.

Tuesday's action resolves four cases in which Warren was accused of maintaining hazardous conditions at properties in and around English Avenue, a poor west-side neighborhood that has suffered from the neglect of absentee landlords such as Warren.

In May, Mayor Kasim Reed called Warren "a predator" for buying up properties around English Avenue and failing to maintain them. Reed was not in court Tuesday.
