A utility worker was electrocuted Monday while on the job in Covington, authorities confirmed.

The man was working on a power line on Dixie Road about 10 a.m. when he was electrocuted and fell, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 2 Action News.

No other details were released.

The road is blocked while authorities investigate the incident.
