Man drives to gas station after shootout, dies in parking lot

A man collapsed in the parking lot of a Union City gas station and died after a shootout at a nearby apartment complex, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Two men shot at each other at the Ashford Oaks Apartments complex on Oakley Road Tuesday, police confirmed. The shootout happened near the complex’s 1300 and 1400 buildings.

The man who ultimately died drove himself to the Texaco gas station at the intersection of Oakley and Flat Shoals roads, according to Channel 2. Police said he was shot multiple times. His identity was not released.

The second person who was injured in the shootout was taken to a local hospital, according to Channel 2. That person’s injuries are unclear.
