The Downtown Connector has reopened hours after a multivehicle crash before I-20, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Major delays remain following the wreck, which involved multiple cars and a motorcycle, the news station reported.

At one point, all northbound lanes were closed and the trip time through the heart of downtown from Langford Parkway to 17th Street was nearly 50 minutes.

"They had all lanes blocked for over 10 minutes," WSB 24-hour Traffic Center reporter Mark Arum said. "As a result, traffic is stacked bumper-to-bumper back before Langford Parkway. Major delays heading up from the airport area into Midtown."

The Traffic Center suggests drivers take I-285, U.S. 41 or Pryor Street to avoid the delays.

“Especially if you’re not familiar with the surface streets through downtown, if you’re heading in from the southern suburbs, I would definitely use I-285 as your alternate,” Arum said.
