A man who was found dead by a postal worker in South Fulton has been identified.

Investigators said the body found lying face-down on a dirt road Monday is 55-year-old Mark Barnes of Douglasville.

Barnes’ body was found just before 2 p.m. Monday by a postal worker in the 6400 block of Chattahoochee Drive off Campbellton Road, according to Lt. Derrick Rogers with the South Fulton Police Department.

Rogers said the worker was delivering mail to a home near the scene when she saw the man’s body in the road.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the man had multiple gunshot wounds.

No other details were released.
