Days after he jumped into Lake Lanier and did not resurface, the body of a missing swimmer was found Tuesday.

Searchers pulled 28-year-old Bentley Nwagbara’s body from the lake about 10:30 a.m., according to Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon.

Authorities in Hall County had been searching for the Stone Mountain man since about 4 p.m. Saturday, when a possible drowning was reported at Harbor Landing near Buford.

Divers from Hall County Fire Services spent several hours looking for Nwagbara after he jumped into the lake from a dock or a boat, officials said. The search effort was later turned over to the DNR and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Wardens from the DNR continued the search effort on Sunday and Monday, but did not immediately not locate him, McKinnon said.

Nwagbara’s body was released to the Hall County coroner.
