Athens teen accused of making threats toward school in video-game forum

Aug 7, 2019Athens-Clarke County police arrested a teenager they say made terroristic threats online Wednesday morning.
Kevin Sorrells, 19, made a comment on a video-game forum about shooting and blowing up a school, prompting investigators to obtain a search warrant for the suspect’s Athens home, according to a news release. Police did not name the school.
He was charged with one count of felony terroristic threats and was booked into the Athens-Clarke County Jail without bond, according to jail records.
Detectives did not find evidence of an imminent threat during their search, the release said.
