An Alpharetta girl who had been missing for more than a week was found Tuesday afternoon, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Brooklyn Smith, 13, went missing Jan. 14 from Main Event Entertainment after police say she called her father, Steven Spires, to pick up her and 16-year-old Desire Hall.

Hall was also reported missing, but she was found safe near a Covington hotel Jan. 18. She told police a man had dropped her off there.

Both teens were under supervisory control of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services when they went missing, police said. A court order prohibited Smith and Spires from contacting each other.

Police did not say how or where they found Smith, who also went missing last July in Hall County. She was also found with her father in that incident.

Spires was taken into custody Tuesday, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

He was transferred Wednesday to the Fulton County Jail, where he is being held on a charge of interference with custody.
