One person has been killed and at least three were injured in a shooting at the M-Bar Sports Grill in Jackson, Mississippi, according to reporter Therese Apel, citing a statement from police.

Cortez Shelby, 41, sustained a gunshot wound to his neck and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement by Hinds County deputies.
A woman and two men also were shot and were transported to UMMC with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police statement.

Deputies responded shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday to reports of a shooting at the bar, which is in the 6300 block of Ridgewood Court, according to the statement.

An altercation occurred inside the establishment between the suspect and at least one other person, police said.

The suspect, a Black man who was wearing a red baseball jersey, produced a pistol and began shooting at multiple people, Hinds County deputies said in their statement.

The suspect left in a maroon or red Ford Mustang with a large white diagram on the rear window, police said.
