With most of the world participating in a new form of “Netflix and chill,” the reports of the international streaming service’s outages Wednesday came at a particularly challenging time.

According to technical outage reporting site Downdetector, there were more than 1,600 Netflix users reporting an outage Wednesday afternoon. About 3,000 outages were reported between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET with most of the complaints coming from the West Coast and Northeast in the U.S., according to the site's tracking map.

A user asked @Netflixhelps on Twitter about whether the streaming juggernaut was having issues with its servers around 1 p.m. Wednesday, and its business account responded with some troubleshooting article. On Downdetector, users in Tampa, Florida, Kansas and the Phillipines reported issues.

By 2:30 p.m., Netflix reported service had been restored.

More than 40% of the outages were due to “no connection,” while 35% complained “video streaming” wasn’t functioning properly.
