A 14-year-old suspect has been charged with assault and battery after three Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School students were injured in a shooting during dismissal Wednesday afternoon in South Carolina, according to the ABC affiliate in Columbia.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the shooting was not a drive-by, ABC Columbia reported Thursday.

On Wednesday afternoon, students were evacuated to the Technology Center after the shooting, according to reporter Sam Bleiweis.

The students’ injuries are considered to be non-life threatening, according to reporter Billie Jean Shaw, who cited the school district.
