Braves, Falcons seek millions for stadium naming rights

The Braves and Falcons are in the early stages of seeking to sell the naming rights of their new stadiums.

Both teams have hired national agencies to help value and market the names, which the teams expect will fetch multi-millions of dollars annually and, over time, recoup a significant chunk of their private investment in building the stadiums.

The stadiums are scheduled to open in 2017.

Right now, both the Braves and Falcons are rare exceptions in pro sports: teams who play in stadiums that do not bear a corporate sponsor’s name.
