A 7-year-old boy was in stable condition at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite after being hit by a full-size pickup truck Thursday night while crossing a road in Marietta, police said.

The incident happened on Franklin Road near Delk Road around 5:30 p.m.

Katasha Stienstra was trying to cross Franklin with her three children, ages 2, 7 and 8, outside of a crosswalk, according to Marietta police.

The 7-year-old boy was struck by a 2008 Ford F-150 that was traveling north on Franklin in the center turn lane.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene, police said.

The case remains under investigation.
