Atlanta firefighters were called out to a northwest Atlanta office building Friday night after a fire broke out, officials said.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 7 p.m. to Premier Events in the 1800 block of MacArthur Boulevard after someone called 911 about dark smoke coming from the building, Atlanta Fire Department spokeswoman Alyssa Richardson said. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy smoke and a working blaze, she added.

The fire was extinguished within minutes and no one was inside the building at the time, Richardson said. Officials did not say where the fire was located. The extent of the damage is not clear at this time, Richardson said.

Investigators are at the scene working to determine how the fire began.
