The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a 32-year-old man.
Authorities were called around 1 p.m. Tuesday to an apartment on Iron Bell Court near Cartersville about an armed man. When they arrived, a woman who had fled the apartment and said she heard a gunshot flagged them down.
Deputies located Truitt Jermaine Cousin, who was “acting extremely strange and was screaming profanities and random words,” according to Sheriff Clark Millsap in a news release.
The victim, whose name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin, was found inside the apartment with multiple gunshot wounds and later died at Floyd Medical Center, the sheriff’s office said.
Cousin, 32, was taken into custody and is being held at the Bartow County jail on pending charges, Millsap said.
